Decatur, Georgia Portrait Session | Decatur, Georgia Photographer
This Decatur, Georgia portrait session needs no explanation. It is adorable, and that’s really it! I’ve had the pleasure to photograph this cutie, and his equally adorable family all over Atlanta. For this session we decided to embrace his inner super hero. I’m so glad that we did…..
I love my children’s portrait sessions. It’s fun to just…..play, and let my little subjects lead the way(with a little hidden direction of course). ;) If your little one is growing up too fast for you to keep up let’s plan a custom portrait session today! I handful of dates left this season, and I’d love you to grab it up!
Sautee Nacoochee Wedding Photographer | Nacoochee Presbyterian & Bernie’s Restaurant
I’ve been a professional wedding photographer in Georgia for nearly 15 years. I love that it takes me to so many beautiful places to capture the love stories of so many wonderful people. My mind is literally flooded with the images of so many happy days with my clients. It’s more than fantastic. This classic-rustic wedding took place in a real Georgia gem; Sautee Nacoochee. I met up with the bride and bridesmaids at Bernie’s Restaurant & Nacoochee Valley Guest House. The ladies got ready for the day in the most perfect attic boudoir of the historic property. It was wonderfully charming. As ANYONE that knows me or has worked with me will attest, I am always an early bird. It’s just in my nature, and shooting the most important moments of someone’s life is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. At any rate, this morning was no exception, and I got a beautiful shot of the sun rising over the church that would later house my couple as they said their vows.
I absolutely adore these cobalt blue doors at The Sautee Nacoochee Presbyterian Church. They are such a fun pop of color, and looked fantastic with the ladie’s sunflowers!
How gorgeous is that pop of blue for a Georgia country wedding?
Hopefully you can see why I’m always a happy wedding photographer when I’m working in northeast Georgia. Sautee Nacoochee is a special little place that you should check out the next time you are in the area, and if you are planning your wedding in the area……I’m your gal!
Northeast Georgia Portrait Photographer | Clarkesville, Georgia
Here is another super adorable family portrait session that took place up in northeast Georgia. This time I was a happy photographer in Clarkesville, Georgia. Clarkesville, Georgia is nestled neatly in the rolling hills of northeast Georgia. If you have not heard of this quaint little town, you may have heard of near by Helen, Georgia. Helen is a bit of an oddity. An alpine themed river town known for rowdy Oktoberfests, and summer ‘tubing’. Clarkesville is about as sweet a little town as you can find. The people are lovely, and the scenery is idyllic. I was a particularly lucky photographer for this family portrait session. It was to capture the first birthday of a special little guy. This darling little boy’s mommy is my best friend of about 30 years. Pretty cool……
Time to plan YOUR family’s next portrait session in northeast Georgia!
Decatur, Georgia Portrait Photographer | Northeast Georgia Family Portrait Session
Warm weather means it is time for family portrait sessions! I call Decatur, Georgia home, but have portrait clients all over the state. One of my favorite areas to photograph family portraits is in the northeast Georgia mountains. Why? Well, I grew up in this area, and it’s just gorgeous. Anyone that has taken a drive up to Tallulah Falls, Clarkesville, Helen, etc can tell you. It’s quite charming. I met up with this adorable family for a portrait session in Demorest; a northeast Georgia metropolis of about 2000. It’s tiny, and lovely, and photogenic.
Are you looking to book a spring or summer family portrait session? Whether you are in Decatur/Atlanta, or up in Demorest/Clarkesville…….I’d love to get you in front of my lens. :)
Marietta, Georgia Engagement Portraits | Marietta Wedding Photographer
This couple is just too cute! I photographed this handsome groom-to-be’s little brother for his senior portraits a couple of years ago, and when these two got engaged they came calling. I was thrilled, and after our engagement portraits together I was even happier. These young love birds are just lovely together! We met up in the always photogenic Marietta square for our day of engagement portrait fun………
I really think that ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS are such an important part of the ‘getting married’ process. Not only does it document this amazing time when you are floating on pink clouds with the love of your life, but it let’s you get to hang out with your photographer, and see that it’s actually really fun to be in front of her lens!
I love getting outside for an engagement portrait session in the best light of the day with a newly engaged couple. I gather so much interesting information about them, and every time I leave feeling like I know my sweet couple. I know their stories, and I know their faces. It makes me excited for the wedding day even more! If you recently became one of those newly engaged love birds I’d be thrilled to hear about YOUR story! Thinking of a portrait session in Marietta’s square? I know it WELL! :)
The Foundry at Puritan Mill | Atlanta Wedding Photographer
This awesome couple picked one of my favorite venues in Atlanta. Puritan Mill is a wonderfully cool space that mixes elegance with industrial with perfect results. I have always had a fondness for the photogenic nature of industrial facades. To photograph the soft femininity of a bride against the hard surfaces of a raw space is just beautiful to me. It’s one of my favorites for sure. Spaces with an industrial feel have been popping up all over Atlanta the past few years, and I love them! I started my day with the ladies at the hotel, something I like to do. It makes for a long day, but I don’t want to miss a minute! :)
The team at Atlanta Wedding Florals did a stunning job with the flowers for this chic Atlanta wedding.
As a wedding photographer I am always looking for the little objects of importance. I love this sweet locket on the bride’s bouquet with a photo of her father in it.
Frosted Pumpkin of Atlanta did beautiful work for this fun wedding cake! I thought it was a perfect mix of classic lines and modern whimsy for this Puritan Mill wedding.
Are you planning your BIG day at The Foundry at Puritan Mill? Looking for a photographer that adores that industrial-chic look? Look no further! I’d love to hear all about your day, and help make your vision spring to life!
HIGH Museum of Art Photographer | Rashid Johnson Exhibit | Atlanta Event Photographer
I photograph events for Atlanta’s High Museum of Art often, and I am always thrilled to do so. I’m a lifelong art nerd/freak, and it feels like my natural habitat. This Rashid Johnson exhibit was a fabulous event; complete with a talented artist, and some of Atlanta’s art scene fixtures in tow to check it out.
I found Rashid Johnson’s work to be powerful and vulnerable all at once, and I was moved by it. His mix of concept-driven work and photography hit the mark for me. We are about the same age, and I could feel the shared influences of our formative years in his work. I completely enjoyed this exhibit.
I’m looking forward to photographing more events at The High Museum of Art in 2014! :)
Children’s Portrait Photographer | Atlanta Portrait Photography
Working with little children is just awesome! I am never one to try to force poses and locations. I just join in their fun, and that works for me. If I’m just another playmate it’s pretty easy for me to gently ‘direct’ without any little ones knowing what I’m up to. This way the portrait session is a fun play date, rather than some tantrum-inducing mess. I’ve always loved hanging out with little minds, and watching their wonderful imaginations come out. I think if you treat children like wonderful little people they will always present you with authentic and adorable portraiture. These four blond cuties are cousins, and they are beyond sweet together. I love this bright, cheery, colorful summer session!
Let me know if you want to schedule a play date with me and my camera!
Atlanta Wedding Photographer | Engagement Portraits in Atlanta, Georgia
Yay! Engagement Sessions! I’ve said it a million times, but I love, love, love my engagement sessions. They are fun, and creative, and romantic, and just perfect portrait sessions. Mind you, I love shooting something new every day. This week I have a family session, a newborn session, and three homes for a design firm. I like the ever changing subject in my viewfinder, and there isn’t really anything that I don’t photograph, but there is something about engagement sessions that always feels like a blast. I think anything wedding related tends to be near and dear as I’ve photographed about 600 weddings in my career, but I also think that Photo By Gannon has some of the coolest couples around. I love getting that intimate time to myself with my soon-to-be-married couples. It’s priceless to me! After talking to my bride-to-be about some of their hobbies, activities, and likes I came up with a location game plan. I think we really hit the mark. I can’t wait for this sweet young couple’s wedding day this spring!
The groom has a love of baseball, and I thought it was fantastic that the bride wanted to incorporate that into our custom engagement session. That’s what it’s all about.
When I photograph a couple’s engagement portrait sessions in Atlanta it’s always about multiple locations. I love to match up my couple in the perfect locations.
Did you get engaged this winter? Starting to plan your wedding? I’d love to chat with you, and you’d love to have a wedding photographer that thinks your wedding day is as important as you do! See! We’re a match made in heaven already……….a custom engagement portrait session is included in all of my wedding packages. Let’s go outside and play!!
Atlanta Family Portraits | Atlanta Portrait Photographer
This growing little family had just welcomed their beautiful little daughter, and wanted to capture this special time. Many of my clients opt to do baby’s first portrait session when the little one is a bit older. Of course as a portrait photographer I say ‘Let’s do BOTH’, but I’m a little biased I suppose. ;) I met up with this sweet family for a portrait session at home. It’s something that I do often when a family wants to keep things personal and more intimate, and especially when little children are involved.
As an Atlanta portrait photographer I have about a million locations up my sleeve, but sometimes it’s nice to just work in the home of my clients. They are comfortable there. It’s private, and it’s probably somewhere I’ve never been. I actually like to show up blind, and find all the best spots in a small residential location. The comfort of my portrait clients is probably the biggest asset of a home portrait session. After all, that’s what great portrait work is all about!
If you are welcoming a new member in your family, or just planning a spring portrait session I’d love to be a part of it. Nothing makes me happier than filling your frames!
