Atlanta Wedding Photographer | The Atrium | Norcross, Georgia
When this lovely bride got in touch with me after her engagement I was a very happy wedding photographer. She and I had been close friends in college, but had fallen out of touch over the years. Being her wedding photographer was a special reunion, and I’m so happy that it brought this old friend back into my life. The wedding had romantic pops of red at every turn, the bride’s signature color. It set the tone for a classic event. The wedding took place at The Atrium in Norcross, Georgia. The Atrium is a fantastic Atlanta venue with a lovely little courtyard, and floor to ceiling glass in the event room. It’s perfectly set up for an elegant wedding such as this. We had a blast shooting together, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of this special day.
I worked with the bride and all of the bridesmaids at the hotel to capture some ‘getting ready’ fun. We were joined by some FAB professionals to make the ladies shine. Candice Holloway was giving the ladies the perfect camera ready face, and Julie Avant was on the tresses. They did a phenomenal job, and I look forward to working with these two again in the future.
Killer red pumps are a great way to add some pop and attitude to your wedding look.
The soon-to-be Mister and Misses saw each other for the first time under this beautiful tree. It was a sweet moment. The ‘first look’ before the ceremony is something more and more of my couples do. It’s great to calm the nerves, and a wonderful way to get all of your photos done before the ceremony.
I LOVED this cake! Funny enough, it was done by another college friend! Marcie Gibson is a master of chic, gorgeous cakes. This one is a beauty!
…..and they danced the night away. The Atrium was a perfect location for this chic wedding. I hope to end up at The Atrium for a wedding again soon. Are you newly engaged? Planning a wedding at The Atrium? Let’s talk!
Gainesville, Georgia Family Photographer | Atlanta Portrait Photographer
For this sweet family portrait session I headed up to Gainesville, Georgia to meet up with this family in a park near their home. It’s always a good thing to explore a new location, and this was a great one for this little family. We met up in the last hours of light to catch the gorgeous ‘golden hour’, which is the best light a photographer can get their eye on. Between the adorable smiles, and the perfect light, I think we nailed it! This family is beyond CUTE!!
Don’t let too much time slip away before your next family portrait session. I promise we’ll have some fun, and you’ll be so glad that you took a little time to capture the moment. Let’s talk…..

Decatur, Georgia Family Portraits | Decatur, Georgia Photographer
This fun photo session was with one of my favorite families ever. I’ve had the pleasure to have them in front of my lens many times, and I love it every time. For this portrait session we hit a local green space with some personality in Decatur, Georgia. Decatur is this photographer’s home base, and as much as I LOVE my destination weddings, and exploring new spots all over Georgia, it’s always nice to work in my little Atlanta neighborhood too. I love that we captured this family’s bright and fun personality with these images.
This ADORABLE creature is Coco, and is one of the cutest dogs on the planet.
Speaking of adorable pets, my clients ask me all the time if it’s okay to bring their four-legged family members along. It is MOST DEFINITELY OK! Photo By Gannon is a major, major animal lover. I truly understand that a beloved pet IS a part of the family, and I’d like to meet them too! :)
I’m looking forward to getting these cuties in front of my lens again next year. :)
Atlanta Wedding Photographer | Engagement Portraits
I had the pleasure to photograph the wedding of this sweet couple in Columbus, Georgia. It was a picture perfect event from start to finish, and I’m sure I’ll be sharing that on the blog soon. FIRST, I want to share our fun engagement session that we had together. Photographing engagement sessions are the best! I include a custom session with all of my wedding photography packages because it’s such a great time to get to know my couple. By the end of the portrait session we all feel like old pals, and are extra excited about the upcoming big day. For this engagement session we met up in the Conyers, Georgia area. I always like to scout out at least two locations for my clients so that we can get a ton of fabulous options. My goal as a wedding and engagement photographer is to capture the unique vibe that every couple has. These two love to laugh, and are a blast to be around. I think we nailed it!
Engagement portrait sessions are supposed to be FUN! So often my couples tell me they are a little nervous going into the portrait session. By the end of it? We’re old friends, and they’ve forgotten that I even have a camera in my hands. Are you newly engaged? I’d love to hear from you………
Atlanta Portrait Photographer | Vintage Concept Portrait Session | Creative Photographer, Decatur, Georgia
This portrait session was special as my gorgeous subject is a very special gal. As a portrait photographer it’s always an unbelievable treat when a subject is up for a creative concept shoot. For this session my subject wanted to embody a bygone era, and came to the table with a beautiful collection of vintage clothing, much from the 1940′s. We had an absolute blast together! I love photographing this kind of portrait session. It’s one on one, creative, and the ending product is super special and unique. It’s a chance to move slowly through the creative process, rather than the hustle that I usually have when wearing my ‘wedding photographer hat’. I hope you enjoy this radiant beauty, and our one of a kind portrait session together. I could go on and on about this gal, and how truly magical she is, but I don’t think I’d do her justice. I’ll let the images speak for themselves.
Do you have an alter ego? Want to explore it? Let me and my lens help you out with that? Hope to hear from you soon!
SweetWater Brewery Wedding | W Hotel Atlanta | Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer
I was so excited to be a part of this cool Atlanta wedding. When I heard that the wedding and reception were going to take place at The SweetWater Brewing Company I was thrilled! I’ve been a wedding photographer in the Atlanta/Decatur area for over 13 years, and had yet to photograph a wedding at SweetWater Brewery. It was fabulous! To start the day off, I met up with my lovely bride and company at her home in Decatur, Georgia. We got some great getting ready coverage, and had time to hang out together to chat about the rest of the day. After we finished up in Decatur we headed to the ultra cool W Hotel in Midtown Atlanta. This hotel is chic and young, and I always enjoy working there. The lobby is decked with great backdrops, and the wall to wall glass in the rooms unveils killer skyline views. We finished our getting ready work at The W Hotel, and got a few gorgeous portraits there with the ladies. Then, it was off to SweetWater Brewing Company where I met up with the handsome gents. Have a look at this event, and it’s beautiful couple. You can see a couple of shots from this wedding in Jezebel Magazine on the stands right now(March 2013).
Where did this STUNNING dress come from? Sweet Elegance Bridal Salon in Decatur, Georgia. If you are looking for it, they have it. It’s my favorite salon in Decatur, and you should check it out. :)
This bride was really serving it up! Look at that face! Happy Wedding Photographer, right here! :)
I love the elegant black with that pop of kelly green. All of the flowers for this wedding were done by the fantastic crew at Stylish Stems. They do awesome work, and are a blast to work with. I always enjoy running into the Stylish Stems team on a shoot. :)
Gotta love a quick change into some party shoes!

Decatur, Georgia Portrait Photographer | Editorial | Senior Portraits
Working with this gorgeous young gal was such a pleasure. We met up in Decatur, Georgia to capture some great new images for her comp card. When photographing portraits for an aspiring model/actor it’s important to know your market. What this little lady needed was a mix of fresh and friendly editorial, and the opportunity to show a little range in a commercial way. This kind of portrait session, with this type of subject isn’t terribly different from a senior portrait session. It’s about showcasing different looks, and aspects of one’s personality. It’s about fresh, young imagery. As a portrait photographer one of my favorite experiences is the one on one. It’s always a little bit of magic to have that undivided attention on one fabulous subject.
Comp card photo shoots should be all about contrast, range, and personality!
Are you in need of some new images for your portfolio? Need to freshen up your comp card? Maybe you are just in the market for senior portraits? Maybe you are just fabulous, and want to plan your own editorial style photo shoot? I’m your girl! Let’s talk soon…….
Murrells Inlet, South Carolina Destination Wedding | Atlanta Wedding Photographer
For this country-chic destination wedding I left Atlanta, and headed up to the low country of South Carolina. The wedding took place in Murrells Inlet, which is in between Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina. It’s a beautiful area. Miles of beautiful beach, and endless channels and marshes lined with romantic oak trees dressed in spanish moss. I have always had a thing for spanish moss. It’s just one of the most lovely looking things, isn’t it? :) This awesome couple reside in Mississippi, and met up with all of their family and friends on the South Carolina beach for a few days before the big day. That’s part of the fun of a destination wedding. You can turn it into a fabulous vacation. I had so much fun with this group, and think that we got some AMAZING images. It recently was published in Premier Bride Mississippi. Hope you enjoy!
It’s always a treat to be published. :) This pretty Wachesaw Plantation wedding looked great on the pages of Premier Bride.
This beautiful sunset image says it all. THIS is why you plan a destination wedding in a place like Charleston or Murrells Inlet South Carolina. Just beautiful!
I always love to be around first thing in the morn with my bride. That way I can get all of the ‘getting ready’ fun, and take some time with all of the little details of the day. Rings, and Flowers, and Shoes…Oh My! :)
The bride found these bridesmaid dresses on Etsy. :)
The venue, Wachesaw Plantation was a dream for a photographer. A gorgeous country club nestled in the trees, sitting right on the Waccamaw River.
The ceremony at Wachesaw Plantation took place outside right on the bank of the river. It was really beautiful.
The reception was ablaze with candles. I really dig any ambient light, but the large collections of candles was extra fabulous. I thought the use of old bottles in different shades of green was beautiful.
Are you planning a destination wedding? Photo By Gannon is always ready to hit the road or jump on a plane. Whether you’re planning a wedding in Charleston, South Carolina or Santa Barbara, California I’d love to be a part of it! :)
Hardeman Sams House Wedding | Athens, Georgia | Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer
I worked as a wedding photographer in Athens, Georgia early in my career. It’s always amazing to go back to Athens, and see some of the classic venues that the city holds. The Hardeman Sams House is a perfect example. Situated in the middle of UGA’s sprawl, it makes for a festive and fun day. Athens is a quick jump from my home base of Decatur, Georgia. I also went to school at UGA so it’s always fun to head into Athens for a trip down memory lane. I can’t say enough about this sweet couple. Gorgeous together, and just bubbling over with love. It was my pleasure to be a part of their special day. I also got to work with one of my fave vendors, Stylish Stems. I was in love with all of the gorgeous pink at this wedding. So feminine and romantic. This sweet wedding also appeared in Occasions Magazine Online. CLICK HERE to check that out. Hope you enjoy!
How adorable are these pink shoes?
Stylish Stems really rocked this out. Just perfectly lovely!
Are you planning a wedding in Athens, Georgia? I’d love to be your wedding photographer in one of the coolest little towns around. Let’s talk!
Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer | Atlanta Engagement Photos
This cute engagement portrait session took place around Atlanta and Decatur. This engaged couple was new to Atlanta, so I took them to a few different locations to show off their new town. We hit Atlanta, and then jumped around in Decatur. I especially loved that we were able to incorporate their two adorable dogs into the portrait session. I love to photograph people with their pets, and feel that pets really ARE family members! I’m an animal lover to the tenth degree, and it’s always a little treat when my love birds bring their pets along. I really enjoyed getting to tour around Atlanta and Decatur with this sweet couple, and show them some amazing spots around town. Being a wedding and portrait photographer it’s a big part of my job to know where the most fabulous locations are. I think we ended up with an awesome mix of green space and urban chic. Atlanta is happy to have these two! :)
