Gainesville, Georgia Family Photographer | Atlanta Portrait Photographer
For this sweet family portrait session I headed up to Gainesville, Georgia to meet up with this family in a park near their home. It’s always a good thing to explore a new location, and this was a great one for this little family. We met up in the last hours of light to catch the gorgeous ‘golden hour’, which is the best light a photographer can get their eye on. Between the adorable smiles, and the perfect light, I think we nailed it! This family is beyond CUTE!!
Don’t let too much time slip away before your next family portrait session. I promise we’ll have some fun, and you’ll be so glad that you took a little time to capture the moment. Let’s talk…..

Decatur, Georgia Family Portraits | Decatur, Georgia Photographer
This fun photo session was with one of my favorite families ever. I’ve had the pleasure to have them in front of my lens many times, and I love it every time. For this portrait session we hit a local green space with some personality in Decatur, Georgia. Decatur is this photographer’s home base, and as much as I LOVE my destination weddings, and exploring new spots all over Georgia, it’s always nice to work in my little Atlanta neighborhood too. I love that we captured this family’s bright and fun personality with these images.
This ADORABLE creature is Coco, and is one of the cutest dogs on the planet.
Speaking of adorable pets, my clients ask me all the time if it’s okay to bring their four-legged family members along. It is MOST DEFINITELY OK! Photo By Gannon is a major, major animal lover. I truly understand that a beloved pet IS a part of the family, and I’d like to meet them too! :)
I’m looking forward to getting these cuties in front of my lens again next year. :)
Cator-Woolford Gardens | Decatur, Georgia Wedding and Portrait Photographer
This portrait session in Decatur’s Cator-Woolford Gardens was the result of a charity auction. I often donate my portrait sessions to auctions to help raise funds for great causes. I was so happy to meet these adorable little subjects in Cator-Woolford’s beautiful grounds. These two were such a sweet pair. We took a nice little stroll around the garden. I like to photograph my clients as we move through whatever location we’ve chosen. It’s nice to get to know them a bit as we walk, and keeps things light and fun. Keeping things moving, and high energy is particularly important when photographing children.
Photo By Gannon calls Decatur, Georgia home. However I have portrait clients in every corner of Atlanta, and beyond. I am always ready to hit the road! I photograph weddings all over the states, and it’s always fabulous to be in a new environment. :)
I LOVE when I can get a serious look from a child. We train our kids to ‘smile pretty for the camera’, but some of my favorites are straight-faced portraits.
After talking to this client I thought The Cator-Woolford Gardens would be a great fit to photograph this family portrait session. It’s a nice size for the little ones, and serves up some beautiful pops of color. Looking to do a spring portrait session in the Atlanta/Decatur area? Let’s talk! I’ll come up with some fabulous location ideas to match up with your family’s personality. Every session is as unique as my clients! I hope I’ll hear from you soon!
Family Portrait Photographer | Atlanta | Decatur, Georgia
This Atlanta family portrait session was too sweet. The family’s newest member was such an adorable little girl, and the three of them together made for a perfect trio. I’m so glad that I was able to catch up with these fabulous clients. They are an absolutely BEAUTIFUL family, and I’m so happy to have had them in front of my lens. I can’t wait for next time!
How gorgeous is this little gal? :)
There are so many amazing things about being a family portrait photographer. The best part might be getting to see my clients every year during milestones and celebrations. Maybe the best part is the hundred holiday cards that come in the mail featuring my portrait work. Maybe the best part is watching all of the adorable little children grow up, and being a little part of that family’s history. Maybe it’s ALL the best! Spring is right around the corner. Let’s plan your family’s portrait session!
Baby Spencer | Decatur, Georgia Newborn Photography | Atlanta, Georgia
Newborn photography is obviously one of the ‘cutest’ sessions that you ever have as a portrait photographer. I am always so honored to photograph a little newborn for their first big photography session. It makes the coming years of holiday shoots, and birthday events even more special. This little doll was too sweet!
Are you expecting a little newborn? I’m in Decatur, Geogia……..and ready to hit the road. All newborn photography sessions are done in the comfort of your home! :)
Atlanta Photographer | Family Portraits in Marietta Square | Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer
Atlanta portrait photography takes me all over Georgia, and puts so many awesome families, couples, and children in front of my lens. I meet new portrait clients every week, and it’s always amazing to find a new client for life. For this adorable family portrait session I met up with my subjects in the always portrait-ready Marietta Square. This was a particularly special session as these are NOT new clients. I was this great looking couple’s wedding photographer a few years ago at the most fantastically chic wedding at JCT Kitchen on the westside. It was a fabulous event! It’s always such a treat to photograph my wedding couples again and again through the years. :)
Pretty little gal! Like mommy, like daughter!
The newest addition to the family is SOOOOOO cute!

Children’s Portrait Photographer | Atlanta, Georgia | Children’s Photographer
Throughout the year I photograph hundreds of children around the Atlanta area. When I’m wearing my children’s portrait photographer ‘hat’ it’s all about letting my beautiful little subject’s personalities shine through. I’m not really a fan of using the same cute props and backdrops for every client. I want each session to feel unique, and super personal. For my portrait session with this little doll we worked in her own bedroom, and by a local lake. I love how her sweet personality really shows up in these. Too cute!
I adore this portrait. I see it many years from now ending up in a double frame, accompanied by a portrait of this little gal in the mirror on her wedding day. That’s the kind of day dreams I have about my work as a photographer. Makes me smile. :) It’s the best treat for a photographer when your work truly fills the storyboard of people’s lives.
This shot cracks me up. She is really serving it up like a pro!
Newborn Photography | Atlanta, Georgia | Decatur, GA Wedding Photographer
Photographing newborns is something I always do in my client’s home. There are a few reasons for this. Number one, it’s a comfortable place for both baby AND mommy. Logistically it just makes sense. From my perspective it’s much better because I can find things around your house that are meaningful to use during the shoot. The last thing I ever want to do is use some arbitrary studio prop that’s been used with 1000 other sessions. Not my style. For this little man’s photo session I loved pulling a couple of his father’s favorite bow ties. This little guy is his father’s namesake, and it was just too perfect. :)
When I plan a newborn portrait in Atlanta we try to plan it for the first 10 days or so of our little one’s life. This is how you can achieve the cute cooperation from your tiny subject. For this session we did it a bit later than that. In my opinion it’s just as fabulous to wait. The little babe will be much more alert. Sure, you may not be able to do the cute shots we all love of a newborn curled up in a wooden bowl or other such vessel, but who says that’s what every mom is into? Sometimes it’s just about classic portraiture.
Are you expecting? Let’s talk about planning a session today! I’d love to capture that precious time that flies by so, so quickly.
Fernbank Museum Photography Session | Decatur, Georgia Photographer
I photographed this gorgeous little gal at the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. Fernbank is a cultural keystone for the area. I’ve photographed weddings here, and enjoyed exploring the museum in my down time. Making use of it’s beautiful grounds we made quick work of this session that marked this little cutie’s 6th birthday.
As an Atlanta portrait photographer it’s all about finding the right location for my subjects. I always enjoy spotting a new spot, and often go out on location scouts around town. Fernbank was a perfect spot for this one on one session.
My family and children’s portrait sessions happily fill my week days, and almost every Saturday is spent with a pair of love birds. It’s such a great fit for me to have something different in front of my lens every day. One day it’s a tiny newborn in a client’s home. The next day it’s a family portrait session on location in Atlanta. Variety is the spice of life, and my lens is addicted to it!
Photographing children is always amazing. They are such cool little people. That’s how I treat them. I respect the individual that they are, and I find that they respond to this. I’ve been told that I’m a bit of a wiz in the art of stepping into a child’s world. It’s a happy place to be, and I adore working with my little clients. :)
Family Photo Session | Conyers, Georgia | Atlanta Wedding Photographer
This one started with a Facebook inquiry from an old high school friend. I was so happy to catch up while we got some fabulous photos. It’s always a treat to see an old friend in front of your lens with their own little family. Time does fly! This is one of the reasons why I do what I do so happily. To look at a photo of a moment past can be magic.

This was a fantastic location for our portrait session. We took a little stroll around The Monastery of The Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia. It is a beautiful property, and as you might imagine….nice and quiet.

When I am working with little children I have a couple of goals. Number one: make friends with them. I find this to be most easy as I just jive with little kids, and think they are endlessly cool. Number two: capture who they REALLY are. I let them be, and respect that. I don’t want my subjects to sit still and smile at me. I want them to live a little in front of my lens, and let me freeze it! If I do ‘direct’ them I don’t want them to know.

Hey Folks! Photo By Gannon is already booking up for fall portrait season so let’s talk soon if you are ready for some fall fun. CONTACT me today………I’ll look forward to it.
