Engagement Sessions

Spring Engagement Session | Decatur Wedding Photographer | Atlanta, Georgia

I can’t wait to photograph this fabulous couple on their wedding day this fall.  Meeting them for the first time for their Atlanta engagement session was a total blast.  These two were so much fun to work with…..and  how gorgeous are they together!  :)

This happy duo will say ‘I do’ this fall in Atlanta.  I know that we are going to make some magic for sure.

We hit a couple of locations for our engagement session in Atlanta.  Our first location was The Park Tavern of Piedmont Park.  Park Tavern is an Atlanta institution.  It is also where this young couple got engaged!  :)

I cannot wait to be a part of this wedding, and photograph every special moment of the day.  Cheers to a FABULOUS couple!

Engagement Photos | Tallulah Falls, Georgia | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

For this recent engagement portrait session I headed up to Tallulah Falls, Georgia.  I LOVE to get up to the mountains, and I actually grew up a stone’s throw from the gorge.  If you’ve never made the drive up to this part of Georgia you are missing out on something stunning.  It’s also fantastic to work in the area because I know it like the back of my hand.  I am always looking for new locations, and going out on scouting trips, but it’s nice to hit one that I am intimately acquainted with.

I’ll be photographing this adorable couple’s destination wedding this June in Tennessee.  I know that it is going to be wonderfully creative, and showcase their fun-loving personalities.

When I photograph a session in a rural setting it’s all about capturing the beautiful textures that these locations reveal.  I’m always drawn to the tall rustling grasses, or the old barn door with paint chips crawling down the front of it.  A moss covered stone or fence that has nearly fallen over.  The weathered facades of the country are endlessly beautiful to me.

Roswell Engagement Portrait Session | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Photographing a newly bethrothed couple is one of my FAVORITE things to do.  I absolutely love getting to spend some quality time with my couples before their BIG DAY.  It lets me get to know them.  It is also a great way for them to get to know me, and all of my big cameras.  I work really hard to fall into my couples and put them at ease.  I want to get them to laugh, and be themselves.  I had a blast with this young couple.  They were so comfortable in front of my lens, and we had plenty of laughs.

I met this cute couple at Morgan Falls in Sandy Springs, Georgia.  My bride-to-be suggested this location, and it was perfect for us.  A cool playscape, a mist covered lake, and sun-soaked trail were a few of the fabulous things that Morgan Falls had to offer us.

After we wrapped up at Morgan Falls Park we headed over to downtown Roswell.  I have done many a shoot in Roswell, and it’s really a fantastic location.  I love the old brick facades, and narrow streets stacked with cafes.  It photographs beautifully.  We did a couple of wardrobe changes, including my couple donning shirts of their alma maters.

Here’s to L-O-V-E and this awesome couple!  I cannot wait to be a part of their special day this spring!

Atlanta Wedding Photographer | Engagement Portrait Session

Engagement portrait sessions are one of my absolute favorite things to photograph.  Not only do I get to know my clients a little better before the big day, but they get to know me.  Anyone will tell you that your wedding photographer will be by your side on your wedding day more than any other vendor.  You want to know them.  You want to be able to ‘chill’ with them by your side.  One of my all time favorite complements is when a couple tells me how fun I was to hang out with on the big day, and that I really put them at ease.  While I am running around creating images that you will cherish for a lifetime, I also want to be able to share some laughs with you.  :)   For this recent session I met my couple at Piedmont Park….with their sweet dog Abbie.  It was the first week of October, and we strolled around and enjoyed the amazing autumnal weather.  I am really looking forward to their wedding day this spring.  :)

Atlanta Wedding Photography | Engagement Portrait Session | Hapeville, Georgia

I love an engagement session!  It’s so fun for me to get to know my couples a little better, and share some laughs and chat about the upcoming wedding.  For this recent session I met the happy clients at the very place where ‘She Said Yes’.  It brought me closer to them to see where that big moment happened.  That big moment happened in adorable Hapeville at The Cafe on The Corner.  We met for all of 20 minutes, as my clients had to get back to work, but I think we made a little magic.  :)

Cheers to this beautiful couple!!! This little session was just a few days before their wedding.  Come back soon to see the images from their gorgeous, intimate, and romantic wedding.  :)

Atlanta Wedding Phographer|Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

This Atlanta wedding photographer recently had the pleasure to photograph this fantastic couple in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  We had a blast doing a little island hopping, and using nature as our backdrop.  The South Carolina coast as the sun is setting is a beautiful place to be. This cute couple got married two years ago, but never had an engagement portrait session. It was my great pleasure.

Photo By Gannon LOVES being a destination photographer.  Are you planning a beach wedding?  A family reunion?  Special gathering?  Let’s talk!  I want to be there to capture your memories with some style.

Photo By Gannon is ready to jump on a plane, or hit the highway! Hope to be a part of your next big moment! :)

Northeast Georgia Wedding Photography|Atlanta Wedding Photographer in Clarkesville, Georgia

A few days ago I drove up to Clarkesville, Georgia from Atlanta.   I photographed this adorable couple, and I CANNOT wait to photograph their wedding this fall.  I could feel the close connection that they share.  We were joined by young Logan, their son.  Logan is a total natural in front of the camera, and such a doll.  I had a great time getting to observe them all together.  They are definitely like the Three Musketeers, and it was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with them!

As an Atlanta wedding photographer I love all of the intown venues that I work in frequently, but I really love getting out of the city for a session like this.  Travelling to new destinations is always a treat, and I am always ready to jump on a plane or just hit the highway.

Are you newly engaged?  I would be thrilled to be a part of YOUR big day.  Find me on Facebook!  I hope to hear from you soon!

Engagement Portraits in Northeast Georgia Mountains

What a beautiful location this was!  The bride’s family home served as the backdrop for this portrait session.  Set in the mountains of northeast Georgia, this historic property was a beauty.  We strolled around the lovely grounds, and used the fall colors and rustic textures as inspiration.  I’m really looking forward to this couple’s Atlanta wedding at King Plow.  Check back this spring to see images from their big day!

Atlanta Engagement Portrait Session in the Virginia-Highlands

I recently photographed this cute couple in the fabulous Virginia-Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta.  It was a gorgeous fall day, and we had a blast shooting around the site of the couple’s first date.  I really enjoyed getting to know this sweet couple, and can’t wait for their Augusta wedding in the spring of 2011!

A Pastoral Engagement Session in Dallas, Georgia: Atlanta Wedding Photography

As a professional wedding photographer in Atlanta, one gets really acquainted with Atlanta’s wedding venues and vistas. Over the past decade (plus) I’ve had the pleasure to shoot all over the metro area, and this is great! It allows me to stretch and push myself to make each shoot look unique and exciting ,even if I’ve photographed in the location dozens of times.

The other side of the coin is venturing out to new locations. Whether it’s out of state or just a drive away, it’s exciting to work in a new environment. This week I headed out to the country(Dallas GA) to photograph an awesome couple at the family farm. Dandelions were plentiful, and the light was golden. It was a gorgeous spot to work in. I told this couple that they win the award for “best props” this year. This fabulous location came complete with an old airplane, a fabulous VW bug, and a sprawling pasture. You just cannot beat that folks!

Cheers to Country Vistas and a Beautiful Couple!
