Northeast Georgia

Engagement Photos | Tallulah Falls, Georgia | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

For this recent engagement portrait session I headed up to Tallulah Falls, Georgia.  I LOVE to get up to the mountains, and I actually grew up a stone’s throw from the gorge.  If you’ve never made the drive up to this part of Georgia you are missing out on something stunning.  It’s also fantastic to work in the area because I know it like the back of my hand.  I am always looking for new locations, and going out on scouting trips, but it’s nice to hit one that I am intimately acquainted with.

I’ll be photographing this adorable couple’s destination wedding this June in Tennessee.  I know that it is going to be wonderfully creative, and showcase their fun-loving personalities.

When I photograph a session in a rural setting it’s all about capturing the beautiful textures that these locations reveal.  I’m always drawn to the tall rustling grasses, or the old barn door with paint chips crawling down the front of it.  A moss covered stone or fence that has nearly fallen over.  The weathered facades of the country are endlessly beautiful to me.

When she says ‘YES‘ give me a shout.  Photo By Gannon wants to be a part of the big day!

Northeast Georgia Family Portrait Session | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

For this family portrait session I jumped in the car and travelled up to northeast Georgia.  I grew up in Tallulah Falls and Demorest so I always enjoy working in the area.  There is nothing like driving up from Atlanta, and seeing the gentle, rolling mountains.  I would consider myself a city girl with a mountain vista in my DNA.  ;)   At any rate, I have worked with this awesome family before.  They are entirely lovable!  We worked right down the street from their gorgeous mountain home, and caught some precious moments.  Love working with these guys!

How ridiculously cute are these little guys?  :)

Photo By Gannon is looking forward to the spring portrait season of 2012.  Will I see you in front of my lens this spring?  Let’s talk!

Family Portrait Session | Holiday Portraits | Northeast Georgia Photographer

During the busy fall portrait season I was so happy to have this adorable little family in front of my lens.  This beautiful new mother is a dear friend from high school.  :)   We met up on a gorgeous fall afternoon in Clarkesville, Georgia.  We made good use of the awesome light, and pretty fall color.

I love these portraits, and this sweet family.  :)   Do you need some great portrait work?  Contact me, and we’ll talk about your personalized session.  This Atlanta photographer loves to travel so if you live outside of the city, we can make it happen!  I hope to hear from you soon!

Lake Rabun Wedding | Atlanta Wedding Photographer | Fall Wedding in Northeast Georgia

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to work with this sweet couple for their big day.  I met up with the bride and the ladies at The Barn Inn.  The bed and breakfast is adorable, and the caretakers are fantastic!  If you are staying in the Lakemont area, check them out for sure.  I hung out with the ladies as they had some lunch, some laughs, and got wedding-ready.  I REALLY like the photojournalistic coverage that I get early in the day, and it is a great way to integrate myself into the group so that the bride is completely used to a blitz of photos by the time the ceremony is upon us.  I like the inside look I get during this more intimate time.

After everyone was dressed we all headed to a private home on Lake Rabun for the ceremony and reception.  Fall details and decor were everywhere.  Autumn is probably my favorite time of year.  The light is perfection.  The colors are gorgeous.  And there is that certain something about the air.  Being up in northeast Georgia for this wedding all of these things were most apparent.

Cheers to this fabulous couple and their laid back and chic event!  Photo By Gannon would like to tell the story of YOUR big day too.  Contact me today!

Gainesville, Georgia Family Portrait Session | Atlanta Wedding Photographer | Holiday Portraits

For this session I had the pleasure to photograph THREE generations.  What a wonderful moment to capture!  I met this sweet family group in Gainesville, Georgia.  Part of the family was in town for the weekend from Alabama, and I was so pleased to be their photographer.

When photographing a large family group I try to do as many different groupings as I can, and I am always looking for the candids that happen organically along the way.

Atlanta Wedding Photographer|Country Portrait Session|Northeast Georgia

This Atlanta wedding photographer was recently working for a few days in northeast Georgia.  While there, I photographed several portrait sessions and an event.  This beauty was my subject for an impromptu session.  She happens to be my best friend of over 25 years.  I had all of my equipment with me so I talked her into throwing on a sundress and some boots, and taking a little stroll in a field.  I work fast, and we spent a short 15 minutes before an afternoon thunderstorm.  We got some fantastic shots, and had a few laughs.

A one-on-one portrait session is always one of my favorite things to do.  There is nothing like that undivided attention that I can have on one subject.  It’s a little bit of magic to chase after that perfect expression, that certain look in the eye.  It’s what makes me love my job so very much.

Is it time for your senior portraits?  Are you looking to do a sexy boudoir session to spice things up?  Need some unique and slick headshots?  You name it.  I want to shoot it.  Contact me today, or find me on Facebook.  Can’t wait to meet you!

Family Portrait Session| Atlanta Wedding Photographer| Cornelia, Georgia

I have photographed about 700 weddings in my career, and WHO KNOWS how many portrait sessions?  I photograph a few fabulous clients a week so the number must really be up there.  I feel so lucky to have had the honor!  Check out this beautiful family!  We had a great time together, and captured this sweet time in their growing family.  Parents tell me all the time how grateful that they are to have had our session together.  It is so easy to let the time pass you by.  I mean, you guys are busy!  But, let Photo By Gannon steal an hour or two.  You’ll be really glad that you did.  :)

Photo By Gannon wants to meet your family, and make some memories with you!  Contact me today, as sessions book several weeks in advance.  Cannot wait to plan our session together. :)

Northeast Georgia Wedding Photography|Atlanta Wedding Photographer in Clarkesville, Georgia

A few days ago I drove up to Clarkesville, Georgia from Atlanta.   I photographed this adorable couple, and I CANNOT wait to photograph their wedding this fall.  I could feel the close connection that they share.  We were joined by young Logan, their son.  Logan is a total natural in front of the camera, and such a doll.  I had a great time getting to observe them all together.  They are definitely like the Three Musketeers, and it was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with them!

As an Atlanta wedding photographer I love all of the intown venues that I work in frequently, but I really love getting out of the city for a session like this.  Travelling to new destinations is always a treat, and I am always ready to jump on a plane or just hit the highway.

Are you newly engaged?  I would be thrilled to be a part of YOUR big day.  Find me on Facebook!  I hope to hear from you soon!

Engagement Portraits in Northeast Georgia Mountains

What a beautiful location this was!  The bride’s family home served as the backdrop for this portrait session.  Set in the mountains of northeast Georgia, this historic property was a beauty.  We strolled around the lovely grounds, and used the fall colors and rustic textures as inspiration.  I’m really looking forward to this couple’s Atlanta wedding at King Plow.  Check back this spring to see images from their big day!
