Atlanta Wedding Photographer | The Atrium | Norcross, Georgia
When this lovely bride got in touch with me after her engagement I was a very happy wedding photographer. She and I had been close friends in college, but had fallen out of touch over the years. Being her wedding photographer was a special reunion, and I’m so happy that it brought this old friend back into my life. The wedding had romantic pops of red at every turn, the bride’s signature color. It set the tone for a classic event. The wedding took place at The Atrium in Norcross, Georgia. The Atrium is a fantastic Atlanta venue with a lovely little courtyard, and floor to ceiling glass in the event room. It’s perfectly set up for an elegant wedding such as this. We had a blast shooting together, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of this special day.
I worked with the bride and all of the bridesmaids at the hotel to capture some ‘getting ready’ fun. We were joined by some FAB professionals to make the ladies shine. Candice Holloway was giving the ladies the perfect camera ready face, and Julie Avant was on the tresses. They did a phenomenal job, and I look forward to working with these two again in the future.
Killer red pumps are a great way to add some pop and attitude to your wedding look.
The soon-to-be Mister and Misses saw each other for the first time under this beautiful tree. It was a sweet moment. The ‘first look’ before the ceremony is something more and more of my couples do. It’s great to calm the nerves, and a wonderful way to get all of your photos done before the ceremony.
I LOVED this cake! Funny enough, it was done by another college friend! Marcie Gibson is a master of chic, gorgeous cakes. This one is a beauty!
…..and they danced the night away. The Atrium was a perfect location for this chic wedding. I hope to end up at The Atrium for a wedding again soon. Are you newly engaged? Planning a wedding at The Atrium? Let’s talk!
SweetWater Brewery Wedding | W Hotel Atlanta | Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer
I was so excited to be a part of this cool Atlanta wedding. When I heard that the wedding and reception were going to take place at The SweetWater Brewing Company I was thrilled! I’ve been a wedding photographer in the Atlanta/Decatur area for over 13 years, and had yet to photograph a wedding at SweetWater Brewery. It was fabulous! To start the day off, I met up with my lovely bride and company at her home in Decatur, Georgia. We got some great getting ready coverage, and had time to hang out together to chat about the rest of the day. After we finished up in Decatur we headed to the ultra cool W Hotel in Midtown Atlanta. This hotel is chic and young, and I always enjoy working there. The lobby is decked with great backdrops, and the wall to wall glass in the rooms unveils killer skyline views. We finished our getting ready work at The W Hotel, and got a few gorgeous portraits there with the ladies. Then, it was off to SweetWater Brewing Company where I met up with the handsome gents. Have a look at this event, and it’s beautiful couple. You can see a couple of shots from this wedding in Jezebel Magazine on the stands right now(March 2013).
Where did this STUNNING dress come from? Sweet Elegance Bridal Salon in Decatur, Georgia. If you are looking for it, they have it. It’s my favorite salon in Decatur, and you should check it out. :)
This bride was really serving it up! Look at that face! Happy Wedding Photographer, right here! :)
I love the elegant black with that pop of kelly green. All of the flowers for this wedding were done by the fantastic crew at Stylish Stems. They do awesome work, and are a blast to work with. I always enjoy running into the Stylish Stems team on a shoot. :)
Gotta love a quick change into some party shoes!
This Atlanta wedding was lively, unique, romantic, and I’m SOOOOO glad that I was a part of it. If you are newly engaged, CONTACT ME today! I would love to be your wedding photograher, and capture some magic on your BIGGEST day! Hope to hear from you soon………
Murrells Inlet, South Carolina Destination Wedding | Atlanta Wedding Photographer
For this country-chic destination wedding I left Atlanta, and headed up to the low country of South Carolina. The wedding took place in Murrells Inlet, which is in between Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina. It’s a beautiful area. Miles of beautiful beach, and endless channels and marshes lined with romantic oak trees dressed in spanish moss. I have always had a thing for spanish moss. It’s just one of the most lovely looking things, isn’t it? :) This awesome couple reside in Mississippi, and met up with all of their family and friends on the South Carolina beach for a few days before the big day. That’s part of the fun of a destination wedding. You can turn it into a fabulous vacation. I had so much fun with this group, and think that we got some AMAZING images. It recently was published in Premier Bride Mississippi. Hope you enjoy!
It’s always a treat to be published. :) This pretty Wachesaw Plantation wedding looked great on the pages of Premier Bride.
This beautiful sunset image says it all. THIS is why you plan a destination wedding in a place like Charleston or Murrells Inlet South Carolina. Just beautiful!
I always love to be around first thing in the morn with my bride. That way I can get all of the ‘getting ready’ fun, and take some time with all of the little details of the day. Rings, and Flowers, and Shoes…Oh My! :)
The bride found these bridesmaid dresses on Etsy. :)
The venue, Wachesaw Plantation was a dream for a photographer. A gorgeous country club nestled in the trees, sitting right on the Waccamaw River.
The ceremony at Wachesaw Plantation took place outside right on the bank of the river. It was really beautiful.
The reception was ablaze with candles. I really dig any ambient light, but the large collections of candles was extra fabulous. I thought the use of old bottles in different shades of green was beautiful.
Are you planning a destination wedding? Photo By Gannon is always ready to hit the road or jump on a plane. Whether you’re planning a wedding in Charleston, South Carolina or Santa Barbara, California I’d love to be a part of it! :)
Hardeman Sams House Wedding | Athens, Georgia | Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer
I worked as a wedding photographer in Athens, Georgia early in my career. It’s always amazing to go back to Athens, and see some of the classic venues that the city holds. The Hardeman Sams House is a perfect example. Situated in the middle of UGA’s sprawl, it makes for a festive and fun day. Athens is a quick jump from my home base of Decatur, Georgia. I also went to school at UGA so it’s always fun to head into Athens for a trip down memory lane. I can’t say enough about this sweet couple. Gorgeous together, and just bubbling over with love. It was my pleasure to be a part of their special day. I also got to work with one of my fave vendors, Stylish Stems. I was in love with all of the gorgeous pink at this wedding. So feminine and romantic. This sweet wedding also appeared in Occasions Magazine Online. CLICK HERE to check that out. Hope you enjoy!
How adorable are these pink shoes?
Stylish Stems really rocked this out. Just perfectly lovely!

The Peachtree Club Wedding | Atlanta/Decatur Wedding Photographer
This beautiful summer wedding was a so much fun! As an Atlanta wedding photographer a venue like The Peachtree Club is a dream! It’s a spot that has perfect skyline views everywhere you look, and being able to photograph my wedding party out on the street is always a treat. I love the combo of the romance and softness against the tough city facades.
I always start my wedding shoots at the salon with my bride. When I say that my packages include unlimited time……I mean it! I don’t want to miss a thing. This lovely bride got glammed up right at the always fab Van Michael Salon in Buckhead.
Beautiful flowers by Blossoms of Elegance. :)
When it comes to Atlanta wedding venues….it’s tough to beat this view!
Did you get engaged on Valentine’s Day? Photo By Gannon would LOVE to hear from you!
Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer | Avondale Estates First Baptist Church | Atlanta Wedding Photography
This summer wedding had it all as far as this Decatur wedding photographer is concerned. The most adorable couple imaginable, a lot of love, gorgeous details, and happy people. What else could a wedding photographer ask for? There were so many great parts to this day. I was happy that Occasions Magazine felt the same way. CLICK HERE for the full story of this wedding in their online magazine. The gorgeous bride got her dress at one of my favorite Decatur, Georgia bridal salons, Sweet Elegance. The bride got ready at one of my favorite intown salons, Sego. The people that work at both of these Decatur home-grown businesses just ROCK! If you are planning a Decatur or Atlanta wedding you should check them out. Tell them Annie of Photo By Gannon says howdy! Speaking of that dress……
The bride’s father was the pastor of this fabulous Avondale Estates church. Everyone was so nice here!!
Being a true creative photographer means being in a million places at once, on every wave length, every perspective. I’ve been called a ninja a few times, and I like that! :)
I am always a big fan of a pop of bright color. It makes a wedding come to life.
Back to details for a minute. This groom’s cake was BEYOND amazing! When the new Mr. and Mrs. drove off in the life-sized version of this jeep everyone had a big smile on their face. This masterpiece is by one of my favorite groups of cake artists in the business. The FABULOUS Highland Bakery. They just so happened to create my own wedding cake as well. This couple had a dessert reception. Love that idea, by the way!
Off they go to their happily ever after. Big XO from Photo By Gannon!
Piedmont Park Wedding | Piedmont Room | Park Tavern | Decatur, GA Wedding Photographer
This gorgeous summer wedding took place at one of Atlanta’s most popular wedding venues; The fabulous Piedmont Room atop Park Tavern. I have been lucky to photograph a ton of glorious weddings at the Piedmont Room over the years. With a wall of glass showcasing a midtown view this space never disappoints. Having a wedding in Piedmont Park is a true Atlanta wedding. This couple had a beautiful day, and I’m so happy that I was a small part of it. Have a look!
The bride chose a beautiful summer palette of oranges and corals. I absolutely LOVE a summer wedding that uses bright, bold colors. Summer weddings are an amazing chance to get extra bright with your color selection.
How cute are these two together? :)
The bride chose two different pair of shoes for the wedding. A pair of sexy coral heels for the wedding, and………….
………these AWESOME silvery Chuck Taylor’s for the reception. I love a bride in some converse. Love.
The bride’s pretty pops of coral were peppered over the whole Piedmont Room. It was perfectly pulled together.
One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is that you really become a part of a family’s story. It’s something I never take for granted. A shot like this adorable son and his handsome father makes me smile.
When it comes to wedding venues in midtown Atlanta it’s hard to beat The Piedmont Room.
This stunning gal got her dress at Sweet Elegance Bridal Salon in Decatur, GA. It is a FABULOUS salon. While you’re there be sure to check out the photos that are on the walls. A lot of them are Photo By Gannon brides. :)
This romantic wedding in Piedmont Park was absolutely a pleasure to photograph. I’m looking forward to photographing my next wedding in Piedmont Park, and hopefully working with these two love birds again some day soon.
Newly engaged? Let’s talk!
Pregnancy Photography | Maternity Portraits | Wedding Photographer | Atlanta, Georgia
I’m so happy to get back to some blogging! I’m SO terribly behind. I always say ‘Brides before Blogs’. I’d rather put my blogging on the back burner to turn my weddings around in ONE week, and my portrait sessions in a few days. It’s all about going the extra mile for my awesome clients. I’ll be catching up a lot over the next couple of months so be sure to check back soon. :)
This is a pregnancy portrait session that was particularly dear to me. I photographed this fabulous couple on their wedding day, and to have them back in front of my lens to celebrate the birth of their first child was a fabulous thing for sure. Watching a family grow in front of my lens is actually one of my favorite parts of this work.
How gorgeous is this mother-to-be?
All of my portrait work is done on location. It’s always fun trying to find new locations for my clients. This session was done right at the client’s home. I do a lot of my pregnancy/maternity portrait sessions in the homes of my clients. It lends itself to an intimate shoot, and speaks to the beautiful ‘nesting’ that’s already happening for my sweet clients.
I completely love this photo. What could be cuter for a professional baseball player that is expecting his first little girl? Love.
Being a location portrait photographer in Atlanta means that I literally drive all over Georgia to meet up with clients, and make some magic. It’s nice to be somewhere new every day. This laid-back home session was a blast. It was so nice to be able to catch up with this awesome couple in a relaxed setting.
LOVE these little shoes. Too sweet.
Cheers to this beautiful couple, and their new addition to the family. I look forward to the next time the THREE of them are in front of Photo By Gannon’s lens for a family portrait session. I think I’ll finish this post with one of my favorite wedding photos ever. It happens to be from this cute couple’s wedding at Primrose Cottage in Roswell, Georgia.

Four Oaks Manor Wedding | Buford, Georgia | Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer
This spring wedding at Four Oaks Manor was a beauty. Gorgeous couple, fabulous details, and a perfect spring day. Four Oaks Manor is a little gem in Buford, Georgia. Like so many fabulous wedding venues in georgia, Four Oaks Manor is a historic home. What I think really sets Four Oaks Manor apart is the attention to detail, and the fabulous grounds. I enjoyed photographing the guests under the towering trees as they gathered on meandering paths before the ceremony. The whole day went off without a hitch. I started early with all of the ladies as they got glammed up.
In charge of getting the ladies camera ready? Amber Nicole Design out of Kennesaw, Georgia. This was my first time working with Amber Nicole, and I was nothing but impressed. They were cool to hang with, and so professional. They did BEAUTIFUL work, and even brought a little boxed gift for my bride with essential things she might need during the day. I thought that was a keeper!
I love this photograph of my beautiful bride. She was just stunning, and was literally glowing a little.
This was the first moment that my sweet couple saw each other that day. Love that moment.
Shots like this are the reason why this location is a dream for a wedding photographer. This southern chic backdrop is what later served as the bar during the reception.
I think the pop of blue that carried through the theme was beautiful. The ladies carried bouquets by Laurens Floral Art.
Meet the Andersons!
This photographer LOVES a perfect blue sky.
Cheers to this beautiful couple, and a fabulous day at Four Oaks Manor in Buford, Georgia. This Decatur photographer is hoping to photograph an event again there soon.
Are YOU starting to look at photographers for your upcoming wedding? Photo By Gannon would love to hear from you………
Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer | Ijams Nature Center | Knoxville, Tennessee Destination Wedding
Earlier this summer this Decatur, Georgia wedding photographer had the pleasure to photograph this wedding in Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville is a really cool little town if you’ve never been, and this wedding was wonderfully cool itself. Completely laid back, but maintaining it’s chic elegance. The shoot began with a rehearsal dinner at the bride’s favorite yoga studio, The Glowing Body. I adore an ‘unconventional’ venue space. This was no exception. The studio was bright and full of happy energy. What could be better for the occasion? The next morning I returned to the yoga studio to snap a few images of the bride and a few of her gal pals as they jump started the day with a little yoga practice. I found this to be most fantastic. I’ve practiced yoga off and on for nearly 20 years, and can’t imagine a better starting point for what can be one of the most stress-inducing days of your life.
After our morning yoga I met up with the ladies at Lox Salon in downtown Knoxville, a little salon with a rock n’ roll flavor in one of the historic storefronts. While the ladies were getting glammed up by the artists of Lox I photographed all of the little moments, and played with the dress and jewelry. This gown was purchased at one of my favorite bridal salons: Sweet Elegance Bridal Salon in Decatur Georgia.
The bride gave her bridesmaids these sweet necklaces.
I love the choice of wardrobe for the guys at this one. If you are having a southern, summer, outdoor, wedding in the afternoon you don’t want to force all the men into 3 piece rentals do you? That’s just mean. Let them breath a little in this great bow tie and vest look. I think it’s super handsome, and your groom will thank you. :)
The Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville is a lovely spot for a small wedding. There are gardens to meander about, and it feels very untouched.
Photo By Gannon is based in Decatur, Georgia. However, Photo By Gannon photographs weddings and events all over the country. I’m always travel ready for a great destination wedding whether it’s in California, Charleston, or the Caribbean.
