Becca & Evan’s Homemade Love Fest | Candler Park, Atlanta
This awesome bride’s family home is set on the coolest land trust right in Candler Park, and so it was no mystery why they planned their wedding right there. Candler Park is known in Atlanta as a laid back/hip neighborhood, and that’s really exactly what this wedding was. The friends and family of this wedding came together for every aspect of this Atlanta wedding. When I arrived that morning I saw friends and family happily putting together flowers, and baking delicious pies, and setting up tables and chairs. It was such a lovely collaboration, and everyone was in the spirit of things. I have to say that the vibe of this wedding was love, love, love. It was contagious.
This sweet red heart box? A friend of the couple made it with a 3D printer. So cool!
I am crazy for the bride’s ‘something blue’ that is sewn right into the underside of her gown, and the cheery yellow mani? Too perfect……and matches her TOMS!
I think that what the groom and groomsmen wore for this wedding is just perfection. They looked handsome and put together, and COOL! No three piece rentals here folks!
I am obsessed with this capture. Love. Love. Love.
This adorable couple spent their wedding night in a tent on the property. I’m loving that too much!
Three generations of wonderful women.
Some of the fruits of the labor……I love the cheery flowers put together with loving hands. Even the wedding wine was made by a talented family member. Pretty fab!
If you are planning an outdoor wedding anywhere, but especially at your private residence. MAKE. SURE. YOU. HAVE. A. TENT……….
As you can see it was put to use during this wedding. The second thing that I would tell any bride or groom that is planning an outdoor wedding is to not stress about the weather. It poured, and I mean poured for an hour or so during this reception. Guess what? It was fantastic. Everyone was sort of wrapped up in a little adventure together. Everyone ate and visited, as they were trapped under the tent for a while. It created the perfect environment for everyone to hang out, and break bread together. And it was memorable. And it was special.
We were even treated to some impromptu card tricks from a groomsmen. That rainstorm really created a tiny little village, and when the rain parted that little village hit the dance floor!
This wedding was such a joy to be a part of. I feel so lucky to have been with these wonderful folks on their biggest of days. This Candler Park wedding was the perfect example of a DIY wedding done with style. I wasn’t at all surprised when DIY Weddings featured it last month. It’s a shining example. 🙂
