Destination Wedding St. John USVI with Heather & Scott
A few days ago I posted about this couple’s rehearsal ‘dinner’ sunset cruise in beautiful St. John USVI. Well this post picks up right where we left off…..in paradise. Also known as St. John. Destination weddings are about more than the wedding day for me. I want to also capture the destination itself. If a couple is choosing a specific location in the world, and their friends and family have traveled from afar that location needs some serious photographer love in my opinion. I treat the location as though it is a member of the group. With a stunning location like St. John USVI, I am in heaven. I’m a bonafide caribbean rat so beach destination weddings are sooooo up my alley.
Ahhhhhhhhhh. Nothing in the world makes me happier than a long tropical vista like this……… Back to the big wedding day! I met up with the wedding group at their fantastic hilltop villa in Virgin Grand Estates, and we got right to it with getting ready portraits, and a few details of the day.
How stunning is this gal????
I adore the colors that Heather used in her details. It was the perfect pop of color for a beachfront St. John wedding.
Not a bad ceremony location eh?
We had a rare rainy afternoon this day, but we didn’t let it slow us down for a single second.
God, I love this bride!!! Want to find this most awesome tire swing? It sits pretty right on Oppenheimer Beach, St. John, and it’s a very popular beach for destination weddings. For good reason!
Planning a destination wedding, even an intimate one such as this, has it’s challenges. Helping Heather make all of the little things come together was the wonderful Katherine Steinborn of Weddings by KatiLady. She was wonderful to work with!
Did I mention that I love these two?? Just pure awesome!
This shot is one of my all time faves. 🙂
It’s hard to say enough about this wonderful, fun-loving, intimate, tropical, destination wedding. I honestly was so lucky and thrilled to be a part of it. Photo By Gannon has big plans to transition to island weddings full time so if you are planning a destination wedding in the USVI or beyond I’d love to hear all about it, and help you work things out. Hope to meet you on the beach soon!
