What an amazing autumn day we had for this portrait session. We used The Carter Center for our backdrop. This is a great spot for this kind of shoot. Whenever I photograph a family with small children, I spend about 50% of the time lightly directing my subjects. The rest of the time, I am watching what happens. With little ones you are better off to rely on your instincts, and let them be. Sometimes the best shots happen in between locations. For me, this kind of shoot is about taking a little walk with a family. We make some stops, but being present for the moments that unfold organically is a must. It is always my pleasure to observe and hopefully capture some meaningful images.
