Lindsey and Matt’s Kellum Valley Farm Wedding…….and a Few Spring Showers
Lindsey and Matt got married at one of my ALL TIME favorite wedding venues, and that says a lot when you’ve photographed as many hundreds of weddings like I have. The Ruins of Kellum Valley Farm is a stunner of a wedding venue in northeast Georgia’s Cleveland. A wedding at The Ruins of Kellum Valley Farm is a destination wedding even if you live down the street, as it’s truly unique. Every wedding that I’ve been lucky enough to photograph here has been a joy. The property is a pastoral dreamscape, complete with horses, goats, a farm house, and one of the prettiest barns in Georgia. Oh, and ridiculously cool stone ruins. It’s just something to see, trust me. I’m excited that this Kellum Valley wedding will be featured on TheKnot.com in a few days…….
You just can’t find these kinds of rustic textures in my home base of Decatur, Georgia. Maybe it’s because I grew up there, but the mountains of northeast Georgia are a little bit of magic.
Now this is a fabulous prop if I do say so…….
Yes, we did get some spring showers this day. If you are planning an outdoor wedding in Georgia, chances are you are freaking yourself out about the ‘what ifs’ with crazy Georgia weather. However. Don’t. Do. That. To. Yourself. 😉 You cannot control ol’ Mother Nature. So what can you do? Have a rain plan FOR sure, and be able to go with the flow. Don’t hinge the day’s happiness on the weather. In short, be like the fabulous Lindsey! We had some sprinkles, but we had FUN with it. In the end, the rain was an amazing element for this shoot, and I’m super glad that we got it actually. I also maintain that it’s good luck!
I mean…….GORGEOUS!! I love a red head, and this bouquet (courtesy of Blue Willow Floral) is perfection!
Exhibit A……for why a little rain can be a fantastic thing!
You can see why I adore a wedding ceremony at The Ruins of Kellum Valley Farm, no? It’s just unique, and smells like major romance!
The moments that unfold during dances with parents are often some of the most moving of the whole day. I’m always touched by these little glimpses into these deep relationships.
Right?? Pure awesomeness!
