Savannah Wedding Photographer | Christ Church Ceremony | Savannah Golf Club Reception

This Savannah, Georgia destination wedding was a beauty. A destination wedding is always exciting for me, and give me a chance to work somewhere new. Savannah is a town I’m pretty familiar with, as I’ve photographed weddings here before, and also taken a few wonderful trips here. But it’s always a pleasure to be in Savannah with my camera. If you have never been to Savannah, plan a trip today. It’s such a cool town. It’s perfectly stunning, and full of characters that could have bounced right off of a page. One of my favorite things to do in Savannah is park it on a bench, and people watch. The city is full of old world charm, but is also energized by the presence of the esteemed art institute SCAD. The hip and fashionable SCAD students add a bit of youth and energy, and I always like to see what the young artists are rocking. Savannah is beyond romantic, and lends itself very well to a destination wedding. Cobblestone streets with ancient oaks dressed up in spanish moss. It’s just overflowing with romance. The day of the wedding I got up early to walk around, and just photograph the city. When I photograph a destination wedding I really treat the location as a character in the mix. My couple chose this destination for their wedding, and I want to be able to supply them with some landscape, art, and street photography. It’s also something that I adore doing. After my morning of photographing the streets of Savannah I met up with my bride and the ladies at JW Salon for all of the getting ready fun.

While I’m getting photojournalistic coverage of the ladies getting camera ready I also use that time to photograph all of the details of the day; shoes, jewelrey, etc. I LOVE getting up close and personal with all of the details. 🙂

After JW Salon we were off for Christ Church on Bull Street. Christ Church is a historic gem.

After a romantic ride in a vintage car we arrived at The Savannah Golf Club for a gorgeous reception. It was a top notch party with a packed dance floor, and amazing food and drinks. I was excited when I saw the stunning lighting. Ambient lighting makes a photographer very happy.
