Sylvie and Owen’s Magical Mount Desert Island Wedding | Destination Wedding Photographer
I can’t say enough about the beauty of the Mount Desert Island wedding. Mount Desert Island is about a magnificent a place as you could ever hope to find. If you’ve never been to Maine, go! I have always had a special fondness for all of the coast in New England, but Mount Desert Island takes the cake. I will have a lifelong crush on it I’m sure. Speaking of crushes, this couple is gorgeous inside and out. They are absolutely genuine, loving, and COOL. Young, and full of energy. These two have a real hip factor. Their love and appreciation for life and all things natural is intoxicating. I was in heaven this whole shoot. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did. Oh, and The Knot dug it too. As a destination wedding photographer I treat my location as another member of the family. The location is the scene in which everything unfolds, and it deserves as much attention as any other key player. Coastal destination weddings tend to inspire me a little bit extra, as I am a water gal. The water, and all of the beauty that it produces, send my creative energy into overdrive. The smells, colors, vegetation. The air. The worn wood, and rusted metal. It’s so lovely I can hardly stand it.
A destination like Mount Desert Island overflows with personality around every turn.
I began this destination shoot with the rehearsal dinner, an waterfront spot where the wedding would occur the following day. Everyone dined outside, and them got to work prepping for the big day.
One of my favorite captures from the rehearsal dinner.
After most of the wedding party camped out, the wedding day began with a little morning yoga.
The bride’s lovely bouquet by Cottage Flowers out of Bar Harbor. Absolutely perfect.
The most awesome little MDI love shack EVER! I want to stay in it one day for sure.
These guys were absolutely wonderful, and hilarious to work with. There are some pretty spectacular ‘out takes’ from this shoot that aren’t ‘blog friendly’, but were a good laugh.
Such a beautiful group of women. I loved working with these gals. All so supportive and loving with one another.
The coastline of Mount Desert Island is more than glorious for a wedding backdrop.
When eagles are circling over your ceremony I feel this positively must be a good omen. Pretty darn cool people!
Break out the lobster crackers! Game on.
A mobile pizza oven? Yes, please! The brilliant and delicious ‘Uproot Pie Company’ was on location.
Cheers to this dreamy event that was so full of all the things that make life beautiful. So happy I was there. 🙂
