High School Senior Portraits | Clarkesville, GA | Decatur, GA Wedding Photographer

I cannot tell you how lovely this young gal is.  She was a complete delight to work with, and just really COOL!  I always enjoy meeting a high school senior for their senior portraits, and she was no exception.  I jumped up to northeast Georgia, Clarkesville to be exact, for this senior portrait session.  I have a ton of portrait clients in northeast Georgia, and it’s a special treat everytime I get to head up to what I think is the prettiest part of the state.  Maybe I’m a little biased.  I grew up in Tallulah Falls.  No metropolis, but so gorgeous it may as well be a Wordsworth poem.  ;)  This little gal and I had a great portrait session together.  I hope I’ll get her in front of my lens again some day!

I love getting to meet my high school seniors for their senior portraits.  It’s my pleasure to meet these awesome young people!  I hope they ALL call me when they get married, throw an amazing party, or have children.  I want to catch those moments in front of my lens too!  :)

The Peachtree Club Wedding | Atlanta/Decatur Wedding Photographer

This beautiful summer wedding was a so much fun!  As an Atlanta wedding photographer a venue like The Peachtree Club is a dream!  It’s a spot that has perfect skyline views everywhere you look, and being able to photograph my wedding party out on the street is always a treat.  I love the combo of the romance and softness against the tough city facades.

I always start my wedding shoots at the salon with my bride.  When I say that my packages include unlimited time……I mean it!  I don’t want to miss a thing.  This lovely bride got glammed up right at the always fab Van Michael Salon in Buckhead.

Northeast Georgia Senior Portraits | Clarkesville, Georgia | Decatur, Georgia Photographer

I have had the pleasure to photograph this GORGEOUS girl before, and I was so thrilled when it came time for her senior portraits.  I drove up to the Clarkesville/Turnerville area from Decatur to take advantage of the beautiful green spaces.  Being a photographer that photographs portrait sessions often in northeast Georgia always makes me feel lucky.  It’s truly a beautiful area.  We had a fantastic shoot together.  Senior portrait sessions are always a total blast!  It was great to catch up with this gal.  She’s as lovely to be around as she is to look at!

This pretty gal is a fantastic dancer.  Absolutely HAD to play with her shoes.  Senior portraits should showcase a young person’s talents, and interests.

 

Cheers to the fabulous young lady!  I heard she just landed an awesome scholarship.  No surprise here.  :)

Cator-Woolford Gardens | Decatur, Georgia Wedding and Portrait Photographer

This portrait session in Decatur’s Cator-Woolford Gardens was the result of a charity auction.  I often donate my portrait sessions to auctions to help raise funds for great causes.  I was so happy to meet these adorable little subjects in Cator-Woolford’s beautiful grounds.  These two were such a sweet pair.  We took a nice little stroll around the garden.  I like to photograph my clients as we move through whatever location we’ve chosen.  It’s nice to get to know them a bit as we walk, and keeps things light and fun.  Keeping things moving, and high energy is particularly important when photographing children.

I LOVE when I can get a serious look from a child.  We train our kids to ‘smile pretty for the camera’, but some of my favorites are straight-faced portraits.

Decatur, Georgia Family Portrait Photographer | Gainesville, Georgia

Family portraits are fabulous for a lot of reasons.  Family portraits take me from Decatur to every corner of Georgia, and these sessions are light and fun.  I think the best thing about working with families is that every year I get to catch up with them, watch them grow in front of my lens.  I get a kick out of it.  True, I’m not curing any diseases, but I feel that the work is important.  I’m helping a family memorialize their own little history.  It’s intimate, and it’s special to me.  :)  I adore this little family!  They are so cute together, no?  We met outside of Gainesville, Georgia for this one.

Every portrait session is about making my clients feel at ease, and using my creative eye to capture the moment in a beautiful way.  With little children, I watch.  I let them be themselves.  I direct in a way that they don’t know they are being directed.  That’s the trick.  :)

I always try to steal a minute away with my moms.  Moms just don’t end up in as many family pictures as they should!  And these beautiful, strong women rarely are in a photograph alone it seems.

Senior Portraits | Decatur, Georgia Photographer in Clarkesville, Georgia

I could not LOVE photographing senior portraits more if I tried.  It’s such a pleasure to spend an afternoon with a young person that is about to head out into the big world.  I love to hear their plans, their lack of plans, their dreams, their ideas.  It’s also nice to keep your own spirit young, and make sure that you still know what is actually ‘cool’.  I’ve never had a problem staying young at heart, but a little infusion of youthful energy never hurts!  ;)  For this Clarkesville, Georgia senior portrait session I headed up to northeast Georgia  to meet this handsome young guy.  I really enjoyed getting to know him for a couple of hours.  Senior portraits are really all about capturing who this young person is right now.  I think we worked well together to get the different sides of his personality captured.

This Jeep was NO joke!  It was also a perfect prop for the day!

Atlanta Engagement Portraits | Marietta, Georgia | Decatur, Georgia Wedding Photographer

Engagement portrait sessions are one of my very favorite things to photograph.  I include a complimentary engagement session in my wedding packages for a lots of reasons.  First of all, I want to hang out with my love birds!  I want to get to know you, joke around, and chat about the upcoming wedding.  I also want my soon-to-be wed clients to get to know ME.  Let’s face it, being in front of the lens can be a really scary thing.  I want my clients to see how easy it really can be.  Nothing makes my day more than to hear how ‘cool’ I was to work with.  If you aren’t having fun during the process……your photographer doesn’t know what they are doing.  It’s as simple as that!  For this summer engagement session I headed to the Marietta area.  After talking to my bride about the look we wanted, I came up with a couple of great locations in the Marietta area.  These two are such a lovely couple, and the camera loves them!

I couldn’t help myself when I laid eyes on this poster!  Too cute!  I’m always looking for a creative way to showcase a cute couple.

Family Portrait Photographer | Atlanta | Decatur, Georgia

This Atlanta family portrait session was too sweet.  The family’s newest member was such an adorable little girl, and the three of them together made for a perfect trio.  I’m so glad that I was able to catch up with these fabulous clients.  They are an absolutely BEAUTIFUL family, and I’m so happy to have had them in front of my lens.  I can’t wait for next time!

Northeast Georgia Portrait Photographer | Family Portraits | Turnerville, Georgia

This family portrait session in northeast Georgia was so much fun!  I had this GORGEOUS farm property to work with, a family full of personality, and we had a blast with it.  I can’t wait to work with this group again.  I have a ton of fabulous clients all around northeast Georgia, and it’s always fabulous to have a portrait session up there in the fresh air.  For this I drove from my home base in Decatur, Georgia to Turnerville, Georgia.  Turnerville is a tiny little spot in between Clarkesville and Tallulah Falls.

Senior portrait sessions are just marvelous!  As a portrait photographer you know how to really ‘see’ people.  It’s something that comes naturally.  The process of photographing someone in a one on one setting is really special to me.  Chatting, watching, listening.  I love talking to my senior portrait clients.  They are on this fascinating precipice.  It’s a time full of first time decisions, and there is so much road in front of them.  They are so often full of excitement for the future, and their dreams are out there.  It’s hard not to get a little charge from these awesome young people!  For this handsome young guy, we worked in Dahlonega, Georgia.  It’s one of my favorite little mountain towns.  It’s festive, and quaint, with a lot of personality.  I’ve photographed a ton of weddings in the surrounding Dahlonega wineries, and have had the pleasure to photograph a lot of different portrait sessions in the idyllic town square.

Senior portrait sessions are about capturing the interests and personality of one special young person.  It’s an honor to be a senior portrait photographer, and the young people that I meet in front of my lens are amazing!
